Rating this facility is a complete contradiction.
The building and facilities are nothing special, merely functional, suiting the purposes of a village hall. The food was definitely not something to rave about but this isn't a gourmet experience. Instant coffee and reheated bacon but the cakes did look more appealing. Maybe on my next visit?
What does set this place apart is the fact that it is regularly put to use. I'm not a local but I'm happy to stop in when I'm passing, when there's an event on, and in a small way, ensure this facility is available to the local community. I find this method of fund raising to be infinitely preferable to collection boxes or losing the facility altogether.
When I last visited, there was a well supported book fair. There were plenty of stalls and a good selection of literary subjects, with books from a few pounds to others costing hundreds of pounds. The entry charge was a reasonable 60p. There is also a regular antiques fair that I know of.
It's not perfect and there is plenty to find fault with, if you choose to assess the basics, but looking at the facility as a whole, this is used admirably well.

Tidy place! Large car park with blue badge spaces marked out.
Ramp and steps to door, WC facilities, 2 rooms, smaller one has kitchen and serving hatch.
Place is always clean and tidy
Roberta Fairs are there 4 times a year - great day out, loads of doll & teddy stalls to suit all collectors, ages and price points

Enjoyed my first visit to Barton Village Hall where I attended an Indian wedding celebration meal. The hall is surprisingly large with excellent amenities and parking. Great place for any function.

Usual local craftfair setup. Good parking. Seems like regular stall holders here. A bit dodgy getting out onto the A6 from the car park though. A blind bridge lays about 80 yards to the right so when you exit, get a move on!

We attended the antiques and collectors fair which is held every two weeks. I almost bought some opera glasses but restrained but I did buy 2 cameos. Well worth a visit. The entry fee is £2 between 9 and 10 and £1 afterwards
